"CATCHING UP........Pleae Don't YAWWWWN....!!"
OK .
No posts for almost 4 months. Pretty Darn Despicable, Don't You Fink???
But here goes.
A hectic fun few weeks..... and I'll attempt to fill gaps.
***BUT No snaps.....I'm presently failing in publishing my stuff to Blogger..... and I've no idea WHY .... THIS has REALLY been the main reason All Has Been So Mouse-like Quiet....
ANYHOW ( fingers X) I'll eventually work out what's going on ...! ****
What've I been up to??
Straight after New Year, St Ives. Incredibly lucky. Many suffered floods, winds, storms...but we had days of bright blue sky, yellow sun, salty-fresh sea breeze....
and after too long an absence, we fell in love with Cornwall all over again...
Also a visit to Harbury ( village near Leamington Spa) to check on my brother's new hip ( NOTHING will keep this man down) and last week, to Our Friends From The North, newly established in their lovely new holiday home on the Menai Straits....
LOTS OF THEATRE/CINEMA TRIPS:
Some Films: "Kill Your Darlings", "Saving Mr Banks", " Long Walk To Freedom"...
" Warhorse"( NT Encore) and " Private Lives" ....
"The Fabulous Beast Dance And Theatre Company" at The Lowry ( Stravinsky: " Rite Of Spring") and also at The Lowry, a fine production of Chekhov's " The Seagull".
AND Lowry again this week: " The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain": ultra talented musicians....
Ballet Rambert at Theatr Clwyd: including the Stones " Rooster" ( Christopher Bruce) which I last saw with my son ( in L'pool)...... at least 15 years ago.....
ALSO Theat Clwid : The best production of " Under Milkwood" I've EVER watched....
Lunch at Forest Hills, Frodsham, as part of Frodshams's Festival......with local playwright Tim Firth charming his audience...
THEN AGAIN Theatr C: a Lunchtime Picnic Play. This was a "snippet" from Arthur Miller's " Elegy For A Lady" ....Great idea. Watched a scene or two while scoffing a rather delicious picnic lunch, generously provided at a minimal cost by Theatr C....NB: NEVER SEEN such huge slices of yummy cake....
And again Theatr C: a children's production of CBeebies popular show: " Charlie And Lola"...along with O and A, both aged 5.........EAR PLUGS advised! The Littlies express their delight in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS...!
Liverpool Playhouse: " View From The Bridge" ( Arthur Miller) Stunning ...set, acting, sound..although nice if the school kids in the audience stopped their tittering...!
Chester Theatre Club: " Beauty And The Beast" ( adult panto!) also " Honor" ( one of their best productions ) and " Hancock's Last Half Hour" by the visiting White Cobra Company.
Tip Top Theatre: super new play by local writer Mark Newman " Useless Beauty" which I could gladly see again....and also a hilarious production of " AVENUE Q"....Fabulous Muppet-like Show for adults....Tears of laughter shed by 95% of audience....
Ashton Hayes Theatre Club's " The Cripple O Inishmaan". A long established but clearly thriving theatre club in a Cheshire village.....
Gladstone's Library, Hawarden: Talks from writers Melissa Harrison and Tania Hershmann
Wintery Writing Workshop led by Gill McEvoy and Judi Ugonna. Lots of food for thought and some interesting pieces ensued...
Waverton Good Read: featuring Lezanne Channaclan with her 1st book " Jelly Bird"
AND cant possibly omit local Music Theatre's " JIGSAW"' production of " The Firebird", including my grandson, G, aged 8. This is a fabulous enterprise, much appreciated by children/their parents alike...( AND, of course, their grandparents...)
MOI? ..................Very proud indeed!!
